The 'New Tab' page includes important features. Clicking the settings icon opens the context menu, where options like print and zoom can be found. The star icon provides access to your favorite bookmarks. Clicking the home picture will take you to the default search engine. On the right side of the command bar, you'll find three icons. This page automatically opens with the most popular websites you frequently visit. The square will expand, showing the label 'New Tab'. To open a new tab, simply click on the space next to the active website in the command line. Tabs representing open pages appear to the right of the location bar, allowing for multiple tabs to be opened simultaneously.Įach tab displays the logo and name of the website, along with an 'X' button that can be clicked to close the webpage. The 'X' icon can immediately stop the refreshing process.
If you encounter issues loading website pages, you can click the arrow button next to the magnifying glass to refresh the content. To search pages, you can expand the dropdown menu next to the magnifying glass icon. The address bar sits beside these buttons, and the search, refresh, and stop icons are subtly positioned along the URL bar. The standard backward and forward buttons are located on the left side of the command line. The command line is where the main content is displayed in Internet Explorer 9.
The three icon lines in IE8 were condensed into a single command bar in IE9. The cluttered UI of IE8 was replaced with a minimalistic design. One notable change was the overhaul of the user interface. Internet Explorer 9 brought significant improvements compared to its predecessors, such as Internet Explorer 8, 7, and 6. It's important to note that Internet Explorer 9 is not supported on Windows 8, Windows 10, or Windows XP systems. However, you can still download and install the browser on compatible Windows operating systems. Microsoft, the developer, has announced that IE9 will no longer receive technical support or security updates. Internet Explorer 9, released in 2011, is now considered outdated.
